I do not know how I do these things. I turn my back for a moment and WHAM! A wiper motor armature on the floor and...OH NO...the little plastic thrust cap
has taken the impact.....AARRGGHH. Now I realise that I can forget any idea of going to an autoelectrician and asking for one: Joe Lucas is no more....so
that leaves YOU. Has ANYONE got one of these. Probably still attached to the armature of that scrap wiper motor you are hoarding. The wiper is the 2 speed
variety used on Spit !V and 1500 and GT6 Mk3. Please peek in your scrap bins. I shall now go and sulk for the rest of the evening.

Doh! Look what I have gone and broken....

Unfortunately Heralds did not use this type of wiper motor. Only Post 1970 Triumphs. The early cars did not have permanent magnet 2 speed wiper
motors. Anyone out there who has? Remember, I only need the small plastic armature cap.

i didnt break mine, it melted, i got a replacement motor from the landrover parts bin, the 2 speed motor is used on the landrover series 3 and is
identical, and freely available they come without the large drive wheel (you fit your own) and was under £40 for a new motor mine came
from ATR in abergavenny (01873 858085) and ask for Huw (he has a spit) hope this helps

After a long and fruitless search which included: Lucas Service Agents ("aint never seen one of them guv.." and unanswered e-mails to the current
manufacturer (Yes, the 14W motor is still in production) I eventually sourced a Mk4 Spitfire motor on eBay for 99p (plus £4.50
postage!). This supplied the required part and I have the rest for spares!! Incidentally, this motor is 10 weeks YOUNGER than the one from my
GT6!!! Still, I have learnt my lesson and all parts are now kept in a large bowl whenever I am fiddling with them. These 30 year old parts are too
precious to drop.
