I have just purchased a new horn relay switch from Canley classic's as my old one has now finaly given up working..
The old one had 3 connectionsit (C1, C2 and W1) the new on as 4 connections (C1, C2, W1 and W2). I have wired it up as per the manual but the horns still
does not work.
I have tested all the wiring using a mulitmeter and this is fine, I have replaced the slip ring, horn push (new steering wheel) and the pencil connector
inside the bos. I have connected the horn directly to the battery and the horn sounds. I have connected the relay directly to the battery and still
nothing. I get power in to the relay but nothing comming out to the horn when the horn push in pushed !!
I have been back to Canley and they exchanged the unit for me !! so I don't think it's a faulty until
ANY IDEA'S !!!!!!

Hi Jason!
Can you hear the relay clicking (as you say you get power into the relay)? What have you W2 connected to? When you get a relay with four terminals
(instead of three with the old one) you have to connect all terminals to get it working correctly. Two terminals are for the initial relay ( W1 and W2)
and the others for the switch/contact ( C1 and C2). So if the horns are wired to earth and C1, then C2 has to be positve (Batt+). If W1 goes to the
horn push (it should , I´ve just found a circuit plan from my MkI) then W2 should go to Batt+ as the horn push should be wired to
earth.
I hope this helps and be careful (disconnect the battery as soon as you can smell or see smoke!!! It can happen, I know). Also check that all
connections are clean and tight.
Cheers Joachim

Horns are one of those things that take a few moments to lateral thinking to work out.
Is it clicking at all?
4 connections on a relay...
2 are for the part of the relay that activates the switch.
2 are for the actual switch itself.
See below for what I think is happening...
