Hi, me again with more electrical problems. Since previous owner not left much any orginal electrical components im onto how the brake lights work... how
do they? i realise it must be some sort of switch but i just wondered where it was placed, how it was placed and maybe even a part no so i can get one?
Thanks.
Alec.

Alec,
There is a small push switch located towards the top of the brake pedal. You'll need to crawl into the footwell with a torch to see it. It completes
the return path to the chassis from the brake lights when closed. The switch is normally held open against a small metal plate welded to the brake
pedal. The switch plunger is released when the brake pedal is depressed, so making the brake light circuit.
Sometimes the switch contacts get dirty and don't make properly if the car has been left for while. This can sometimes be fixed by "pinging" the switch
plunger a few times to take the film off the internal contacts. However, it's best to replace the switch as it gets a lot of use.
