  I tried this mod about 5 years ago and did not like the seating position of the MX5 seat - its sits too high off the floor pan and if you are over 5' 10'' then the driving position is very cramped. Also due the location of the release handles you have to swap the MX5 passenger seat to the drivers side on the GT6 - and visa versa - not really a problem. Have not tried the MR2 seat

    i have mx5 seats fitted in mine, never had any trouble reguarding having to swap the seats around :S and it can be abit cramped if you have a roll bar, if not then its better and EVEN better if you mount them on a small bit of wood just to raise it up a tad and then they will move backwards even further than normal. some mods are needed for the mx5 seats to the rails but easy enough to do! i did get some help as im only small and seast were rather large for me but aslong as you have a grinder and a dril your sorted.

      I bought some MX5 seats off Ebay about 3 weeks ago, for my gt6 mk2. I haven't had chance to put them in yet, but I was in a quandry as to what to buy. I was edging towards some Porsche 911 seats, black and leather. They are much better quality, look great, and a couple of hundred quid cheaper than MX5's. However, I couldn't find anyone who'd used these in a gt6, but looking at the dimensions, they should fit. This said, I decided to go for the aforementioned MX5 black cloth seats, and they look great. And, if they fit well, and I feel comfortable, I might consider an extra £200 for brand new, fitted leather covers (£50 professional fitting if you wanted.) All in all, a sensible, and safe compromise, and with the cloth seats only costing me £80 in the first place (like brand new), a risk worth taking. Even with brand new leather covers on, they'd end up being £200 less than the cost of original second MX5 seats, currently averaging a ridiculous £550 a pair at the moment.
