Simple wiper question

I need new wiper arms as the ones on the car are original I reckon and about to fall apart!

Two questions:

1) It says in the various parts lists there are L/H and R/H arms available. I take it this means LHD sweep and RHD sweep (rather than two different sizes of wiper arm for each side of the car)...

2) The ones I've got are black. Was this standard option on Mk3's? Do the stainless steel ones look better?

I'd check myself but the car isn't with me and I want to get them ordered and delivered by the weekend

    I have a Mk3 and could do with some new wipers - when I've finished putting all the other bits I've recently bought on!!

      yeah, the club ones ar fine.
      
      stainless are much nicer than black.
      the club ones are fine (as good as can be expected for sixties style wipers!)
      
      ive been commuting from aylesbury to slough since mid november and apart from the REALLY heavy rain its cool.
      
      one thing, be careful whenyou push the new ones onto the splines - mine didnt have rubber grommets protecting the bodywork and i managed to scuff the paint with the spline body...
