after a calamitous moment whilst oiling my trunnions when the jack slipped from under my outrigger, somebody recently advised me to jack up the front of
the car by the anti-roll bar instead. what do you think?

Best not to jack the car up using the anti roll bar, go for the crossmember approx 150mm behind the bar. If your car has been lowered it may be
necessary to use a screw jack or similar to start lifting. Remember to use axle stands to support the vehicle and only raise the vehicle when on level
ground.

My car is too low to get a trolley jack underneath, so I keep a piece of scaffold plank (about 18 inches long), and drive onto that first. This
increases clearance by about 2 inches.

Don't use the anti-roll bar; it can bend under the strain and the links were never intended to take the weight of the whole car. Next time you're at an
autojumble or car boot sale buy a modern day scissor jack - I use one from a Toyota which cost me 50p and folds right down to 2.5 inches height - then
raise the GT6 using the scissor jack until the larger trolley jack will fit under it. Simple!!
