  The following data is from the FACTORY WORKSHOP MANUAL
  
  MK1 GT6 - part number 307234
  8 leaves
  0.25" leaf thickness
  Test camber 2.38" +/- 0.13"
  Test load 1238 lb.
  With the spring clamped over the central 4" and the load applied at the spring eye.
  
  MK2, MK2+ &Early MK3 GT6 part number 308499
  6 leaves
  0.234" leaf thickness
  Test camber 1.75" +/- 0.13"
  test load 971 lb.
  With the spring clamped over the central 4" and the load applied at the spring eye.
  
  Late MK3 GT6 - part number 313148
  5 leaves
  0.3125" & 0.375" leaf thickness
  Test camber 1.55" +/- 0.09"
  Test load 1230 lb.
  With the spring clamped over the central 4" and the load applied at the spring eye.

    Thanks guys.
    But to put a spanner in the works!!!!!!!!!!
    some one was kind enough to send me the GT6 mk1 rear road spring data.
    it shows three differant spring numbers, 307324 an 8 blade unit with 1238lb test load, 305945 a 11 blade unit with 1420lb test, and 303727 same blades and test load but differant camber.
    Why are there three, and which one to go for????????

      Go back and look at my posting.
      I posted the data and part numbers for ALL the GT6 springs.
      
      If you check the page in the manual that Van refers to, yes there are three springs listed, but look at the top of the data column you will see that the first column is for the MK1 GT6, and the other two columns are for the Vitesse.

        I didn't know the other two springs are regarding the Vitesse. I have the CD-ROM version of the workshop manual and it doesn't make it clear, at least to me, what the 3 springs relate to. Anyway, I now know.

          John,
          I too have the CD ROM version (only) It's not very obvious, but it is there if you look again.
          If you look at the top of the first column, it says GT6. At the top of the 2nd & 3rd Columns, several lines above the "GT6" in column 1, it says "Vitesse", followed by several lines of text about which chassis numbers etc each applies too - a bit confusing, but it's there.
          
          And how on earth did you manage to extract the picture of the spring ?
          Everthing I've tried other than printing to paper fails as the CDROM is protected.
          Even printing to another PDF fails.
