Hi all,
I have recently managed to source a Mk3 steering wheel on Ebay but although it sits snugly up against the stalk shroud, the thread on the steering column
isn't long enough the end of the column is flush with the wheel so i can't get the nut on!!
Is the steering column incorrect?
I have managed to get reference pics uploaded on the web to help illustrate the problem:

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
thanks

Dom,
Are you forgetting that Triumphs had one of the earliest 'safety/collapsible' steering columns?
The column is in two parts, clamped together just inside the bulkhead. Undo the clamp and you can adjust the upper part for length. NB: 'undoing the
clamp involves releasing the central locknut and the allen screw inside that. Don't undo the two small bolts (or the clamp falls off!)
