Hi all,
I was lucky to obtain a set of original Hepolite pistons (+40 oversize, flat top, with 4 piston rings !!!). Regarding the clearance, there is nothing
mentioned on he piston itself. So I will go for the normal clearance. Unfortunately there is no figure mentioned in my german manual.
Furthermore the size of the main journals of the crankshaft is stated with 50,813 - 50,825 mm in my manual. As I measure more than 58 mm, I think that
cannot be correct. What is the normal size of these main journals. Is it like the Spitfire (58,713 - 58,725mm??)?
Who can help?
Regards
Martin

You say you have 4 rings per piston. Presumably you have an extra one under the gudgeon pin. The set is probably for a high milage engine and the
additional ring is an oil control ring. The clearances will of course be the same for a +40thou as for standard.
Sorry can't help with the main journals...my manual states the same as yours

Hi Geoff,
thanks for the info. Regarding the size of the main journals all the GT6 manuals state the same wrong size. So I will go for the Spitfire
sizes, as the bearings are the same.
