Is there anyone out there !
Hopefully some one can help me wth my little problem. There is a tapping noise comming from the engine that increases in speed on accelaration. It sounds
just like the tappets. These I have adjusted and although the car seems to be running alot better for it ( or mabye thats just all in the mind ) the
offending noise is still present. I have been told that you can get an additive to add to the oil that helps reduce engine noise , is there any additives
that anybody recomends.

If it stops after 3000RPM or so, are you sure it's comming from the top of the engine.
I had a tapping noise from then engine of my Spit. that turned out to be the crank pully being slightly loose on the woorduf key.
Grab the fan belt (with the engine off, obviously) and push/pull it a few times, all the time watching the pully. It shouldn't move at all but if it
moves that could be your problem.
