Triumph MK2 engine in my 1969 GT6 MK2

HI

I am in the process of having a GT6 MK2 restored by Pitstop Classics Ltd of Clipston a few miles down the road from the TSSC headquarters.

On checking the car we found out that the engine is not the original KC series engine and is a ME series engine from a Triumph 2000 mk2.

Does anybody know whats different between the 2 engines and if it will affect the value of the car once restored.

I also think that the carbs are from a mk3 gt6 due to the linkage arrangement.

  The output power on the 2000 engine is less than the GT6 Mk11 engine
  
  The pre ME 50,000 have the milder Mk1 GT6 camshaft and a heaver flywheel. Other than that it is the same as the Mk11 GT6 engine.
  
  The ME50,000 unwards have domed pistons as per the late Mk111 GT6 engine. It also has the GT6 Mk1 milder camshaft and a heaver flywheel.

    Will a mk2 gt6 / Vitesse camshaft fit ok in a pre ME50,000 block.
    
    Could anybody recommend whats the best camshaft to fit & stockits.
    
    The engine currently has mk2 type cylinder head ,extractor mainfold & sports exhaust system, K&N filters.
    
    Whats the best flywheel to fit in a pre ME50,000 block.
    
    How much lighter is the GT6 mk2 flywheel over the Triumph 2000 flywheel.
