All GT6's and 2 litre Vitesses had a pressure regulating and one-way valve mounted on the inlet manifold, in the tube between the rocker cover and inlet
manifold. This is an alloy casting with a circular (3in dia) flat steel cover secured with a wire clip. I need to obtain the control spring from within
that is located under the diaphragm and operates on the plunger.
Background - My car, a 1600 Vitesse (with a 2 litre engine dressed to appear as a 1600) suffers badly from start-up death rattle so a spin-on oil filter
was purchased. To provide sufficient clearance for this to be fitted, the 1600 standard crankcase breather pipe had to be removed and blanked off.
Therefore, an alternative breather system is needed so as not to pressurise the crankcase and compromise crankshaft oil seals. A 2 litre standard closed
circuit breather system appeared to be the solution but the spring is missing.
Question - Is this the best solution? Where can I obtain the spring?
Grateful for all responses.

Angus, I have some new old stock/unused breather valves which obviously contain the spring you seek. You are most welcome to one. Please post a contact
number/e-mail if you are interested. BTW I will be attending Stoneleigh on Sunday.

Lindsay - Thanks for the offer. How much are you asking for these valves? Having spent some time cleaning one up, I really only need the spring. I
am unable to attend Stoneleigh.

Angus,
You can have the valve for nothing (plus postage). If you just want the spring I'll post it, no charge. Please let me know your address and
I'll send it today!

Lindsay,
What can I say! I would be foolish to refuse the new valve. Let me have your e-mail address and I'll forward my home address. Similarly if
you email me your home address then I'll put a tenner in the post.
Many thanks for your response and generosity.
