Does anybody know if the Rover SD1 V8 Fits under the bonnet of a MK3 GT6 without modifying the bonnet?

It's been done, but not by me!
Look for postings by Snowygrouch on the Totally Triumph Net - he's done it, and there have been other references there. Also there is a website whose
URL I have lost (search for V8 or "How to stuff a V8 into a Little British Car") specifically for those who are so sad (deleted) seeking further power
and excitement as to want to make a Spitfire grossly overpowered and underhandling. Just my point of view!
Good luck - I love an engineering challenge too, but this is one too far.

A little bit of agreement here ( NOT TOO MUCH ).
Your statements re Spitfires, Total agreement, even a 2500 in a Spit can mean trouble. I found mine untrustworthy ( Far to much chassis flex).
Or is this just my driving ?
However Kevins question related to a Gt6 which is a different proposition entirely. A Gt6 can be sorted to handle a lot of power compentently.
