If you can not get to SEM this weekend try this.
Frank Ashton a Club Triumph member has arranged for Triumphs to get access to crich Tramway Museum, Derbyshire this Saturday - we can park our cars in the
"main street" and the car&driver get in for free (passengers pay entry fee).
Here aresome more words and I quote:
Standard Triumph Day, TheÂ’ Tramway VillageÂ’, Crich, Derbyshire
As there is no dedicated Standard Triumph event at present in the east midlands area, the ‘Tramway Village’ management has
offered to hold a Standard Triumph day this year. Several of us, all members from Standard/Triumph clubs, are keen to raise support for this much needed
event, and would be glad of your help to ensure its success. On ‘dedicated marque’ classic days at the Village, normally only
vehicles manufactured before 1968 are allowed in FOC but for this day they have agreed that any Standard, Triumph or ST based kit car (and driver)
irrespective of age, would be admitted free. We were offered several dates and chose May 12th because it is their annual model day, which would be an added
attraction for families. The models include all forms of transport. Despite the little time we have to promote the event, we are contacting as many Triumph
related groups as possible, and any help that you can give, would be very much appreciated.

Unfortunately we are going to SEM but several of our area members are hoping to attend.
The tramway museum is a really good day out and well worth a visit.

Another message to get to the top of the list again!
It is sunny and the overdrive on my Vitesse seems to be OK now . Will be heading out for this show.

HI all, did anyone else try the tramway show today at crich? Have to say i was a little dissappointed with the turnout of cars. however those
that i spoke to all seemed friendly and had a real passion for thier cars. Its a shame that all the cars were not all parked togeher, i nearly
missed all the dolomites and the stags! Please dont let this put you off as it was the first event, hopefully this event will be repeated next
year and the numbers may increase.Has anyone else any thoughts?

A modest turn out yes, but a good selection of cars. A concourse Acclaim and a TR7 rally replica were my favourites.
With free entry to show cars inluding my Vitesse and a welcome drink from the organisers I was well pleased.

What a nice looking Acclaim. Any car that old and in that condition deserves respect as do the owners.

That Acclaim was featured in Triumph World mag a while back and has been to the TSSC international recently. Last year he could
not enter the concourse because he had to be at another on the Sunday. Hope he has another go this year.

Read an article in the Courier about this event sometime ago, thought it would be good to go to, never heard about it again.
Have not seen an advert in the courier - only plugging SEM, International.
Shame I miss this event.
Wife says she would have gone - must have been promising as she NEVER gets in a Triumph either the Spitfire or GT6. This was my one
chance of getting her in the Triumph.
Went from Nottingham to the Brookland event by myself.
I now assume I must find a Stag to add to the collection as she say this may be more comfortable than the Spitfire/GT6.
I am sorry I miss out on this event.
Gutted.

Graham,
how nice it is that you would try to get your missus in the car at all, my Bond is my hooligan(legal of course)car and that is the
reason that my wife doesn't want to get in. As we happily share just about every other space in our lives, it is nice to have my
cramped and smelly Bond as my own.

Hi Calvin
It is nice that you share your space with your wife, I have the problem that the wife and two teneagers do not appreciate the
Triumph's, prefer Volvos V50, C70. and to make it worst for me they are all Liverpool supporters, I am a Forest supporter.
So it would be nice to find some common ground, so this event would have been nice to support.
Shame it was not advertised by the Courier and only put on the message board yesterday.

Shouldn't really be talking to you then, Graham, as i am a Leicester supporter, but am forcefed Sheffield wednesday by
fanatical wife. Buy your wife a really nice Herald coupe as a present and your problem is solved, comfy and sylish, common
ground with a triumph slant. will be cheaper than a Stag, but a thousand times more stylish, just get some front discs
fitted.

Calvin
I like your thought, approached the wife about trading her V50 in for a Herald. The reply was fairly pointed. Something
about "Are you real, would prefer two tickets to Athens. "
I can't undertand why. Been there seen it.
Good I idea so I am off to find a Herald as a birthday present.
Hopefully we will see next year in Championship.
Anyway Forest will have played at Wembly before Liverpool and others.

Graham,
for all the rivalry, Forest should be in the premiership, i was upset when they went down and stunned when they
went down again, but have been through it all already with Wednesday, Athens is for two weeks, "Herald coupe is for
life!! not just a holiday" or something like that, and the wedded bliss that can come from that will outstrip two
weeks anywhere in the world.
try that argument
