So no doubt alot of you went to the show, so what did you think? and please show us your photos of the day.
I dident reconize anyone, and depite walking around diddent chat to anyone in main hall, bit shy. Seemed busy and crowded and couldent get to buy anything
as most stalls where to crowded to get to to even see. parked in the big hanger. Enjoyed the show and so did my brother.
Someone stole the P off my windscreen! did have bonnet up while I was there in hanger with the car, and spoke to a nice man about my engine. was nice to
see so much stuff there, couldent find the bits I wanted thogh (hoses for airbox to grill and a seat back cover)

Guy's
There seems to be gremlin in the system and I cannot post in the 'club chat' listing so I will clear a few things up here.
Yes it is now out of the bag, The Club have bought the 4 door herald prototype X696 and it was revealed to the public yesterday at Stoneleigh.
It started life out in 948 format, powder blue & white with phantom grey and white interior as seen in Robsons book (though a B+W photo), it was
then an obvious development for the factory to think of a 1200 version, so why build another when you just change the one you have. Its now in full
1200 spec with 1147 engine, post 63 bonnet and bootlid, gunmetal paintwork with red 1200 interior. Its still on the MK1 chassis.
Full story in March's courier of how, why, where and when.
I cannot post any pictures at the moment as it is currently diabled.

Out of interest, what was paid for the Herald in the end?

Like anyone from the Club is going to tell us mortals a thing like that!

It's not a big secret - but I'll let a Club Official publish the number.
I suspect that the HQ will be holding back the release of information on message board, to allow a Courier article to be written and
published, so that the entire membership gets the big story all at the same time, rather than letting out too many snippets that will
inevitably be quited out of context.
I congratulate "us", The Club for making the move and buying this historic vehicle, which is one of a very small number of factory
prototypes of any model of Triumph that survive.
Having had a good look over the car at Stoneleigh, I would suggest that it's condition is "stabilised" to prevent any further deterioration
- yes, it's been stored in a barn for the last 26 years, and is in suprisingly good condition - but it will continue to deteriorate unless
careful work is done to stop the rust that has become fairly deepseated in places.
I would counsel against a restoration - what the car needs is "conservation" so that it can form the centrepiece of a display in the HQ
museum, and when appropriate be taken to shows, without having to worry about further deterioration. It would just be "wrong" to restore it
to its original "new" condition.

All
As Kevin suggests, an article telling you all about the clubs acquisition of the 4 Door Herald prototype has made the March
Courier.
I am pleased that we have made this important purchase and to see the Club stand exceptionally busy for very long periods at Stoneleigh
on Sunday made it worthwhile.
Many of you had guessed what was lurking under the cover prior to it's un-veiling at 11am, but stayed around and jostled for position
to get a glimpse of the car. Many TSSC members and fellow Triumph club enthusiasts congratulated us on acquiring this piece of
priceless motoring history.
Whilst many of our members were posting to this and other message boards regarding the car, your Council of Management ( COM ) were
working hard to try and secure the car for the TSSC. We were the only ones to go and see the vehicle in Norfolk.
We were shown proof that many other museums had pledged to buy the vehicle including one from the other side of the world, the COM
decided that the cars rightful place was to remain in the UK and be displayed rather than being tucked in a garage or under cover never
to be seen again. In order to achieve this the COM decided we would pay up to £10k, this was what was needed to secure
this priceless piece of British Motoring History.
Cheers
