Hi,
I had the same thoughts when I got my Dolomite, but decided to just carry on as normal. After taking off a door panel, I decided not to put any in
the doors, because they weren't guarenteed watertight on my model. You may have found different. I mounted 2 6x9 speakers on the rear parcel shelf,
not in the holes that are already there, but further inwards, using an angle grinder and a file to cut out the right shape and size, and the
screwing them in. The front speakers I mounted onto cut-offs of skirting board, stained the same colour as the wooden dash, and then stuck them in
to the outside sections of the front parcel shelves, on driver's side and passenger side. (see attached photo). These are 6 inch round speakers.
This I have found to be ample sound quality for what I listen to. I am debating putting an 800W subwoofer in the boot, but that depends on the
quality of the frame around it.
Regards
Ben
