The prefix DH was first used on the 1300 engine then fitted to the Toledo from Oct 1972 and was carried over on to the 1300 Dolomite which replaced the
Toledo around 1976. Looking at the serial number I would guess it is from the Dolomite and yes it is high comp. That is 8.5:1 not the 9:1 of the
Spitfire.

This is undoubtedly the case.
However the engine number doesn't always tell the whole story.
I've got a DH block in my car but its fitted with a 1500 crank (hence its now 1500 cc) and a 1500 spitfire head.
Not one for a concours I guess but it certainly goes like stink.
Doug.
