Has anyone fitted a valve on the spitfire 1500/Toledo/Dolomite to keep the oil at the top of the engine to stop it "rattling" after starting. This is
particularly useful for cars that sit for several weeks.
I did the conversion for the TR6 (which also applies to the GT6) for a spin on filter but I don't see anyone advertise for the above cars which all have
the same engine basically.
Any help apprecited.

Hi Andrew,
The spin-on conversion for the six cylinder engine, is designed to use a filter incorporating a non-return valve. These valves are part of the
specification for the original four cylinder engine filters in 1147, 1296 and 1493cc forms. If your filters don't have valves, try using a different
filter manufacturer.
Cheers,
Bill.

Hi Andrew, First many thanks for the Vitesse info very useful. As for oil filters the Halford HOF 209 seems to contain a non-return valve as the oil
pressure build up is quite rapid.
The another very old trick is to braze an extension tube to the oil filter block adaptor. This then extends into the filter and helps reduce the drain
back.
