In one of those moments of work bordom I was browsing eBay and came across a Dolly Sprint which looks to be sound on the body front, but is described as
"...the head gasket started leaking cos of a sticky thermostat, it still starts and runs and drives but obviously need doing...".
Now I don't NEED another Triumph but...
Any tips on to how big a job the head gasket is likely to be on a Dolly Sprint?

The advert means the head is warped because the engine overheated reading between the lines.
And it can be a pig to do as the steel bolts corrode in the alloy head, and they are at funny angles, and the ancillaries are a pain to remove.

So a new head job?
Can that be done in-situ, or is it an engine out job?

As long as the studs come out, then can be done in situ.
Haed will need skimming probably.
