MessageBoard open again

The MessageBoard is open again - apologies for the outage on Monday. We have currently had to archive over 8000 photographs while we fix the fault. These photographs will return shortly.

It's likely that we could experience problems again on Tuesday, but we are doing everything we can to avoid it.

what is teh most interesting thing about the problems is that you clearly don't have a home to go to..

1.17am????????

I would have knocked it on teh head at about tea-time.

    I overheard David Pearson ask you if the message board going down the night before Stoneleigh was deliberate but unfortunately I didn't catch the answer - what was it?

      Trying to keep the website up and running is often as unpredictable as trying to keep an old Triumph going - you don't know what's going to break next.
      
      The fault is hardware related and pretty much out of my control - I'm a software engineer myself.
      
      I'm currently migrating some content to another server which won't offer us any immediate new functionality, but will I hope offer us a little more stability.

        FYI, the MessageBoard will be closed for posting new messages and followups tomorrow afternoon (Friday) during transition to a new server environment.

        The MessageBoard is open once more, all the pictures are back and you can upload pictures again.
        
        We now have proper image uploading whereby all oversize pictures are automatically shrunk down to normal size on upload.
        
        Please let me know if you spot something not quite right.

        Wonderful!
        I don't understand how you could keep the message board going while doing all that work on the website.
        Phenomenal, bit like open heart surgery!
        
        Tiny point - the original URL still gets us to a redirection screen and thence to www.tssc2.org.uk/ (with a '2').
        Is that the new address for the future?
        Should I amend my 'Favourites'?

        The website will revert to tssc.org.uk when the move is completely over, so there is no need to update your bookmarks.
