Modified GT6s and Spitfires

Hi people I looking on google images and was just looking for a nice spitfire picture when I come across this picture and not that I approx of to many modifications to classics on the body I thought that it looked very different

As any body else came accord any more of these pictures or own any of these cars

There are bits of this spit that i actually quite like for some reason!

Specifically the headlights and the bonnet scoop.

Not sure about the side fins TBO.

  Believe it or not, this was the planned new look for the GT6 in 1968, and would have become the MK3 (as well as the Spitfire Mk iv) if the Powers That Be hadn't decided that pop-up headlights were on the way out, and wouldn't make the American market regulations. Besides, they were also reckoned to be a danger to pedestrians, not to mention the razor sharp wing seams and the specially sharpened wiper blades. As if being hit by a one ton automobile wouldn't do enough damage.... why not just tell the perambulating buggers to stay on the footpath where they belong?
