We came, we saw, we puree'd.
The competition was fierce, we went through scrutineering when we arrived, the Scrap Heap Challenge
(SHC) engineers were impressed, especially with our report of a throughput of 1 tomato per second, that
over two minutes would be faster than any of the other machines they had there.
We we're on the list to compete last as we we're expected to use a LOT of tomatoes. We sneerede at the
other competitors as they fired a max of 1 tomatoe every 2 seconds to 15 tomatoes in two minutes, with
a couple of failures on the start line. It came to our go, we needed a mere 15 to get through to the
next round - foregone conclusion of course.
We fired up the six cylinder tomato chucking machine we lovingly built out of scrap. Tomatoes went in,
tomatoes came out at the predicted rate - if not faster! Unfortunately they came out as salad, we did
emit the most tomatoes in the competition but only 7 hit the target - so we didn't get farther than the
first round, but didn't come last either! We had a good 'entertainment value' and we won't be forgotten
in a hurry.
The whole day was very good as it was a the whole SHC special programme recorded in one day - It's due
to be shown as a special SHC programme after the well known SHC series this autumn, expect it on telly
December....
watch this space!

Great to watch and tasty as well! I think that the quiet thin man at the back of your team
deserves a special mention. Anyway good fun and we certainly appreciated your efforts. Did
the road race team fella ever find the top of his finger?

yes, we have had a email message from the production company, It was found in a tea
time sandwich of one of the old ladies in the old folks home at the other end of the
park.
before any of the care staff could do anything about it the old lady in question had
sucked the meat off the fingernail and declared it the best meat sandwich she had had
for many a long year, pity about the shell...

With Stafford not too far away, I'm thinking that I want to enter my spitgt6 into
the modified section, but are we allowed to enter two?. John, Bin I think if we
bling it out a bit we could have a serious contender for the modified section with
the Tomato Chucker (aka Bloody Mary) - the GT6 engined Tomato throwing machine as
our modified gt6? - as the engine is welded to a trailer we could register the
trailer, mot it, tax it (exempt of course) - or have it attached to a spitfire via
the tow bar and call that our mod? Whadya think?

Chris, myself, Vinny and John are planning to come to Stafford,
with our cars and blitz the modified section of the polishing
competion
we also thought we would enter Bloody Mary as a modified GT6 (er,
all that is left is the engine, but we worked outwards from
there...)
any chance of blagging three passes as it takes three able bodied
men in their primes to work the contrap er monster?
thought we would put a demonstration on on the saturday and the
sunday, don't expect Battle of Jutland artillery barrage, we squash
more than we shoot, but it's a hoot when each whole one comes
out...
Jonathan, 4 and on b1/2 of the Spitfire Aces
