Not had mine yet either? Probably the post strike, I wouldn't have thought they could bring out a back log of two weeks post in a few days.

That's 'cos you live in the 'Sowf' innit Don ... where you live on top of each other like vermin and complain about every last thing, suffer from scurvy and can't even get decent postmen! Up here we get our Couriers before they're even printed. In fact i've been carrying mine to work and back for nearly two weeks and haven't actually opened it yet ... great picture of your car mate bet you can't wait to see it!

'Scurvy' - thank God that's all it is. You're right about the south. Still at least we can sell our tiny terraced houses and go up north and buy whole villages like, well, Lubenham and whole towns like Louth!

Hey, its ok for you lot...I have to go REALLY north next year!! If you think Leicester (where I currently live) is northern, then try Durham (where I am going)!! Too cold/damp for the Spitty...

Ah's just fed t'whippet and Ah thowt ah'd best put thee reet abaht up north. T'int as bad as what ya think, tha knows. Sum of us ave ta live ere and its actually reet grand. T'cold weather's taken care of wi't flat 'at (nivver go b'aht) and t'countryside's grand for t'open top Triumphs. And t'aforesaid Triumphs don't cost a lot of brass ta keep em goin, neither, which can only be a good thing for t'out of work miners and weavers. One thing's for sure, it's better up 'ere than in t'overcrowded, overpriced south.
Meanwhile, Ally, you shold be looking forward to going up to Durham, I'm a graduate of that fine University and it is a most wonderful place to be a student. Don't deny your spit the privilege of sharing with you one of the most beautiful places in the land.

Alice, for goodness sake bring your Spitfire to Durham. Have a look at the 'Great Drives' thread in the 'Lounge Bar'. Apart from the silly and the South African, where are they all? That's right, in the North!
Bring your Spitfire North, and get to know what those Southern wooss jessie poofters don't know they're missing - real driving!

I'd love to bring her with me...but I don't have anywhere to put her! I don't really want her out in the cold
and damp all winter. Just means everyone will have to come and visit me in their Triumphs..so I won't get too
many withdrawal symptoms!
Not sure if I'll have time for nice driving-I'm in the last 6 months of my PhD and the panic is beginning to set in...aargh...

Actually you might be on to something here Graham! If Alice stored her Spit in a kipper smokehouse it would preserve it forever AND ensure nobody ever stole it, plus there would be a new varirty of waxoyl flavoured kippers to try!!

A fatal flaw in your plan here...I dont want my Spitty stinking of manky old fish every time I want to drive it!! Ugh! Waxoyl flavour...dont think that'll catch on...mind you might be better smelling than the normal variety!
