Thanks John - I think on my last visit to Club HQ I bought a lot of items I could have got elsewhere, except that they were in view and on sale...
I like being able to inspect items before purchase and if the club shop can have them on display, I might as well give the money to the club shop!!
I'll come up with a few more items as time goes on.... (tappet adjuster, feeler gauge, carb balancer, brake retaining clip remover, circuit tester,
stud puller, nut splitter, Alu Magic and Chrome Magic polishes, etc etc....)

The stud puller and nut splitter are a bit worrying!

Ahh but after you've bought the index you still have to find the actual article to which it refers! If, like me, you have an eclectic
filing system then the chances of finding even the index are slim. As for who's opinion do you record well I think you need to provide the
options - at the end of the day "your mileage may vary". If the "experts" disagree then you have to make a judgement call. Many times I've
done research on a job, found several different opinions and only been able to choose one - sometimes it's worked and I have become an
"expert" myself, endorsing the "right" way. However, there's always a different set of circumstances which you have no control over OR you
were not given the full detail etc - advice is just that, not 'cast in stone' fact. The probelm arises when we get a little too tied up in
liability - "I can't tell you how to change the brake shoes in case you do it wrong, have an accident and come to blame me" - sad but it
happens. I guess every page is pre-faced by "these are the opinions of owners, given in good faith and no liability is accepted for
anything, ever so there!"
