Previous keeper details
If you are the current keeper you can get information about any earlier keepers on application. You should write to: Vehicle Record Enquiries, Vehicle
Customer Services, DVLA, Swansea SA99 1AJ quoting the registration number of the vehicle and giving the reasons for your request. A fee of £5
is payable.
It is an offence to unlawfully obtain personal data which is contrary to Section 55 of the Data Protection Act 1998. Unlimited fines in the Crown Court (or
to a maximum of £5,000 in the Magistrates Court) exist as penalties in respect of these offences."

Well worth it, if your car's had a few owners. Probably not money well spent if you've had it from new! What you get is photocopies of old log
books.
I've done this for a couple of cars. The GT6 has moved around the country quite a bit and is now back in the next county to where it started. Not many
owners as I have had it for 14 years and the previous guy 7. My old 1973 Rover had stayed in the London area, originally a company car at the First
National Bank of Boston, then belonging to people living in Mayfair and the Barbican, plus a load of others, eventually ending up with me. I sold it to
a bloke who came down from Sheffield and gave him the photocopies, so hopefully it will be added to and passed on as the car changes hands.
