WUM 868H - Spitfire MkIII

Posted By : Stuart Waters, 28-Apr-2004, 04:39pm

I'm interested to know if anyone (probably in the West Country or Midlands) knows the wherabouts of a MKIII Spit I owned for a while. I know the fibreglass bonnet turned up in Worcester Triumph Spare 2 years after I sold the car, since it was an unmistakable shade of aerosol can black with red still showing through and a very dodgy repair I made to the near side indicator area.

This car was bought from a friend and botched through an MOT looking hideously ugly in a fairly matt black finish, and shabby white soft top, but she went like the wind with the best engine I have ever had which just sang, and a D type O/D I ripped from the rotting corpse of a MkIV I also owned at the time. A chopped exhaust completed the setup and the noise was awesome!!

The car needed some welding doing to it when I sold it, which was done by the next owner, and it would be a shame to think that it had been broken or scrapped.

Any news gratefully received....
