This is a 1959 Herald Saloon, first registered in Croydon around September 1959.
The DVLA records show this car first registered as YSU 270 on May 9th, 1990. An application for the original 1959 registration WOY 660 was rejected by DVLA
at that time - presumably the car had not been used on the road and registered on the DVLA computer before the cut-off for registrations in 1983.
The number YSU 270 was transferred to a Ford Fiesta on April 21st. 1992. I don't believe the car has been used on the road since being re-registered as WOY
660 at this time as there were no numberplates carrying this registration when I acquired the car in 1999.
I would like to find out any information on this vehicle, particularly from it's owners around 1990 or earlier.
Names showing on various documents since 1990 are as follows:
Dawn Lacey Muddiman of Polegate, Sussex - first DVLA recorded owner in 1990.
Darren Michael Edge of Farningham, Kent
Emma Louise Adams of Westerham, Kent
I have no history prior to 1990, however there is a suggestion (through the Heritage certificate) that there might be an interesting early history. At some
point the car received the front end (including chassis parts) from a later 1200 or 12/50 and was painted Pink over it's original Coffee and Sebring
white.
Any help greatly appreciated.
Bill Davies.
