  I've never actually seen one on the road - there was a non Turbo'd Avon Acclaim at Gaydon (on the Club Triumph stand) earlier in the year - didn't even know they existed. How come the Club is getting rid of this car? I thought the idea was to save it. Exactly what is worng with it that it can't be saved? Is the Turbo intact or os the unique cast manifold cracked??

    As I understand it, club policy is to only purchase cars which don't require any substantial restoration. This is the way things have stood for a number of years, bearing this in mind I was very surprised when the Avon Acclaim was first purchased. The club has previoulsy declined to purchase a number of historically significant cars.

      So basically they took on more than they could chew? But surely the tssc is the club for ALL triumphs!? I'm sure we have lots of experts on acclaims who could have helped? There was me thinking they only had knowledge regarding the original six cars... (insert wondering smiley)
